Can You Get Stock Music on Adobe Stock?

Yes, you absolutely can. I was honestly surprised the first time I discovered it myself.

I used to think Adobe Stock was only for photos, vectors, and video clips. One night I was editing a YouTube video for a client and I needed a quick background track that sounded cinematic but not too dramatic. I opened Adobe Stock inside Premiere Pro like I always do for footage, typed “cinematic trailer music” in the search bar, and boom, hundreds of music tracks showed up. I sat there for a second thinking, wait, Adobe does music now? That moment changed everything for me.

Pretty much everything you can imagine.

Want upbeat ukulele for a travel vlog? They have it. Need dark ambient drones for a horror short film? Got those too. Looking for corporate background music that doesn’t make people fall asleep? Tons of options.

I’ve downloaded:

  • Epic orchestral builds
  • Chill lo-fi beats
  • Retro 80s synthwave
  • Calm piano solos
  • High-energy EDM drops
  • Even funny cartoon sound effects with music beds

The library feels huge once you start digging.

My Personal Go-To Genres on Adobe Stock

  • Cinematic (my weakness, I probably have 40 of these in my library)
  • Corporate motivational (clients love these)
  • Acoustic folk (perfect for wedding slideshows)
  • Hip-hop instrumentals (great when I edit gaming montages for fun)

How Good Is the Quality Compared to Other Sites?

Honestly? Really good.

I’ve used AudioJungle, Epidemic Sound, Artlist, and PremiumBeat for years. Adobe Stock music sits right in the middle quality-wise, sometimes even better. The production value is high, the mixes are clean, and everything is properly mastered. I never worry about a track sounding thin or cheap once it’s in my timeline.

One track I still use all the time is this soft piano and strings piece called “Hopeful Journey”. I found it two years ago and it just fits emotional travel videos perfectly. Every time a client cries at the final edit (in a good way), I know that track did its job.

Pricing: Is It Actually Worth It?

Here’s the part everyone cares about.

If you already have an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription that includes stock credits, music is basically free until you run out of credits. Most standard license tracks cost 6-8 credits each. I get 40 credits a month with my plan, so I can grab 5-6 songs without paying extra.

No subscription? You can buy tracks individually starting around $30-$50 for a standard license, which is similar to AudioJungle.

Quick Price Comparison I Made Last Month

PlatformMonthly CostMusic Included?Per Track (no sub)
Adobe StockPart of CC planYes (with credits)$30–$70
Epidemic Sound$15–$49UnlimitedNot available
Artlist$40 (yearly)UnlimitedNot available
AudioJunglePay per trackNo subscription$20–$60
PremiumBeatPay per trackNo subscription$49–$199

For me, Adobe wins because I’m already paying for Creative Cloud anyway.

Licensing: What Can You Actually Do With the Tracks?

7 Reasons Why Premiere Pro is GOOD for Audio Editing 2023

Same rules as their photos and videos.

Standard license covers:

  • YouTube videos (even monetized)
  • Social media content
  • Client work
  • Podcasts
  • Online ads

Need broadcast TV, Netflix, or major film? Grab the extended license, costs more but totally doable.

I once had a client use one of my Adobe Stock tracks in a national TV commercial here in Canada. No problems at all.

How to Search and Download Music (Step by Step)

Adobe Stock audio and royaltyfree music for Youtube Adobe Blog

Super easy if you’re already in Creative Cloud.

  1. Open any Adobe app (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, whatever)
  2. Go to Window > Libraries or just hit the Stock panel
  3. Switch from “Photos” to “Audio” at the top
  4. Type whatever mood or genre you need
  5. Hover to preview full track (love this feature)
  6. Drag straight into your timeline or download for later

Outside Creative Cloud? Just go to stock.adobe.com, click Audio, same thing.

Pro Tip That Saves Me Hours

Use filters like:

  • Duration (I always pick 2-3 minutes so I have editing room)
  • Tempo (BPM)
  • Mood (happy, dramatic, calm, etc.)
  • Instruments (piano only, no vocals, etc.)

Narrow it down fast instead of scrolling forever.

Any Downsides I’ve Noticed?

Nothing major, but a couple things.

  • The library is big but still smaller than Epidemic Sound or Artlist
  • No unlimited music-only subscription (yet?)
  • Some tracks feel a bit “stock-y” if you know what I mean, very safe and predictable

But honestly? 9 times out of 10 I find exactly what I need.

My Favorite Tracks I Keep Going Back To

Just because I love sharing these:

  • “Inspiring Cinematic Ambient” – perfect hero moment music
  • “Upbeat Ukulele and Whistle” – makes any boring footage happy
  • “Emotional Piano and Strings” – guaranteed tears
  • “Future Bass Energetic” – when the edit needs to slap
  • “Acoustic Guitar Folk” – coffee shop vibe instantly

I probably have over 200 tracks saved in my library now. It’s embarrassing.

Should You Use Adobe Stock for Music?

If you already use Creative Cloud, yes, start there today. You’re literally paying for it already.

If you don’t use Adobe apps? Maybe stick with Artlist or Epidemic unless you only need a few tracks here and there.

For me? It’s become my main music source. The integration alone saves me so much time, and the quality never lets me down.

So yeah, you can get stock music on Adobe Stock, really good stock music, and I use it almost every single day.

Have you tried it yet? What kind of projects are you working on? Drop a comment below, I actually read them all.
