Are 3D Assets a Part of Adobe Stock?

Yes, they absolutely are. I remember the first time I discovered 3D content on Adobe Stock, I was searching for a simple office chair mockup and suddenly saw an entire category full of 3D models, textures, lights, and materials. My mind was blown because I always thought Adobe Stock was only photos, vectors, and videos.

Let me walk you through everything I’ve learned (and still use almost every week) about 3D assets on Adobe Stock.

Adobe Stock has four main types of 3D assets right now:

  • 3D Models (furniture, characters, vehicles, plants, electronics, you name it)
  • 3D Materials and textures (metal, wood, fabric, concrete, etc.)
  • 3D Lights (HDRI environments, studio lights, area lights)
  • 3D Scenes (ready-made setups you can drop your product into)

I mostly download furniture and product mockup scenes because I design a lot of e-commerce visuals. Last month I grabbed a beautiful leather sofa 3D model and placed my client’s cushion designs on it in minutes.

How Do You Even Download and Use These 3D Files?

Design in Adobe Dimension Using Adobe Stock Assets Adobe Creative

Super simple, honestly.

You search like normal, then click the “3D” filter on the left side. Once you license the asset, you’ll get a .zip file that usually contains:

  • .obj or .fbx (sometimes .gltf)
  • All texture maps
  • Sometimes a Substance .sbsar file

I use Adobe Dimension most of the time because it reads everything perfectly. Drag the model in, drop a material, change the background, done. I once made twelve different color variations of a sneaker in under twenty minutes.

My Favorite 3D Categories I Keep Going Back To

Royaltyfree 3D assets to enhance your projects Adobe Stock

Furniture & Interior Objects

I’ve downloaded probably fifty chairs, tables, and lamps this year. The quality is insane compared to free sites.

Electronics & Gadgets

Phones, laptops, smart watches with proper screen cutouts. Perfect when clients want new colors that don’t exist yet.

Plants & Nature

Realistic monstera, fiddle leaf figs, succulents. I use these in almost every lifestyle scene now.

Packaging Mockups

Cosmetic bottles, boxes, pouches, everything is already UV-mapped and ready.

Do You Need Special Software?

What do Adobe Stock 3D models mean for the 3D printing community 3D

Yes and no.

If you only have Photoshop, you can still use the 3D models. Photoshop 2023 and newer lets you import .obj files directly and render with your own lighting. But trust me, once you try Dimension or Substance 3D Stager, you won’t go back.

I started with just Photoshop, then moved to Dimension (free with Creative Cloud), and now I’m playing with Stager because it’s faster for big scenes.

Pricing: Are 3D Assets More Expensive?

Here’s what I’ve noticed after downloading hundreds:

Standard photo = usually 1 credit Standard 3D model = 4-8 credits Premium 3D model = 10-20 credits

But many of the best ones are actually standard license now. I got a full office chair with five material options for only 6 credits last week.

Common Question I Get: “Is it cheaper to just buy from TurboSquid or CGTrader?”

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If you already have an Adobe Stock subscription, the credits are often cheaper per asset, plus everything is royalty-free forever and cleared for commercial use without worry.

Real Example From My Last Project

Two weeks ago a client needed ten different phone case mockups on actual hands, different skin tones, outdoor and indoor lighting.

I found a 3D hand model pack on Adobe Stock (8 hands, male and female, different poses) for 8 credits. Imported into Dimension, applied the case designs using decal layers, changed backgrounds, rendered 4K in twenty minutes each. Client paid me $1200, asset cost me maybe $20 in credits. Win.

Things That Annoy Me Sometimes

Not gonna lie, a few small frustrations:

  • Preview spinner is low-res sometimes, you only see the real quality after download
  • Some older models don’t have PBR materials
  • No animation-ready rigs (yet)

But 95% of what I download is perfect.

Tips From Someone Who Downloads 3D Almost Daily

  1. Always check the polygon count in the details, anything under 100k is safe for Dimension
  2. Look for models that include multiple material slots, saves hours
  3. Download the HDRI lights from the same contributor if possible, they match perfectly
  4. Use the “Similar assets” section, Adobe’s recommendation engine for 3D is scary good
  5. Save your favorite contributors, some people upload new models every week

So, Should You Start Using 3D From Adobe Stock?

If you make product visuals, social media content, presentations, or anything that needs mockups, yes, 100%.

I went from spending hours cutting out products in Photoshop to creating unlimited angles and lighting in minutes. My portfolio looks ten times more professional now.

Try searching “3D chair” or “3D bottle” next time you’re in Adobe Stock. I promise you’ll get hooked like I did.
